Milta Vega-Cardona

Milta Vega-Cardona is an Organizer and Core Trainer with the Peoples Institute for Survival and Beyond, providing Undoing Racism, workshops and technical assistance in Antiracist Organizing, leadership development, and Transformational Change.  As part of the multi-racial, multi-cultural Leadership Team, Milta provides the guidance and supports the logistics in the antiracist organizing in the North East.

Milta is a well versed and well-known advocate of the Peer Education Models and Community Power Share, creating a dual accountability process between the service provider / Institution and the community serviced.

Milta is a consultant, contributor and Speaker/ Trainer on the conversations of institutional Race/Racism and its effects on Individual and Institutional providing years of outcome based experience in antiracist / anti-oppression transformative change.

A 40-year veteran of the Human Services Field, She Authored and standardized curriculum on Substance Abuse Prevention and Education for Adolescence, in the New York City Public High Schools using Dance, Acting and Spoken word.

Milta has been awarded the National Drug Free School Award, NY Board of Education Canceller Merit Award, Bronx Borough Presidents Merit Award and Proclamation for her work and advocacy in the areas of Health and Mental Health, Substance Use Prevention, Intervention and Alternatives, HIV/Aids, and Women’s health. Along with many honorable mentions in circulations, papers and research copulations on “Minority” women’s health,  Latina Health, In a Women’s Voice and others.
