Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, HeJin Jang plays many different roles in serving "the choreographic." As a multicity-based choreographer/dramaturg/curator/essayist, Jang creates and writes on the idea of 'choreography' and 'living.' Her current projects were presented and supported by Arts Council Korea('09-11, 15, 17, 19), Laboratorio Condensacion('17), Korea Arts Management Service(‘16-18), Knowing Dance More ('17), MODAFE Festival(‘16) among many. Also, a Movement Research AIR(‘09-11), Moving Dialogue MRX Artist('11), DanceWeb Fellow(‘11), NYLA Fresh Tracks('14-15). Seoul Dance Center(Curator/Advisory Committee, ‘15-19), Korea National Contemporary Dance Company(Curator/Dramaturg, ‘16) among others. Currently, Jang is working on the project where she choreographs, writes and shares practices with the idea of what is the minimum we need to rescue choreography.
