Eva Dean Dance

Eva Dean founded Eva Dean Dance (EDD) in 1985.  Throughout the years her extensive body of work has received critical acclaim and accolades from audiences, presenters and students. Dean is known for her site-specific work, use of varied props, and creating collaborations with multidisciplinary artists. A graduate of Hampshire College, Dean carries the legacy of using an experimental approach instilled in her formative years. She has toured her work and taught numerous guest artist workshops around the world. Dean is the Founder and Director of EDD’s studio, Union Street Dance (USD).  USD is located in Brooklyn, providing subsidized rehearsal space, space grants and Mertz Gilmore Creative Stipends (MGCS) supporting the creation of new works for New York-based choreographers.
