Erik Thurmond is an artist exploring the ways in which people perform themselves. He directs action and sound in space and time to produce meaningful possibility for performers and spectators. Erik has studied at The Alabama School of Fine Arts, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, The Alvin Ailey School, and The New School. He is currently completing his MFA in Visual Art at Rutgers University, and is a Process Lab resident artist at Mana Contemporary. His work "The One And Only" was recently presented by Kara Walker at The Brooklyn Army Terminal and he just performed in Richard Kennedy’s opera HIR at The Shed.
