Donna Carnow

Donna Carnow is a Brooklyn-based choreographer, performer, teacher, and artist. Originally from the Chicago-land area, Donna holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated as a James Scholar with honors. Outside of the department, she studied at the American Dance Festival, New York University Tisch School of the Arts Summer Dance Residency, and Bates Dance Festival. She has had the pleasure of performing in works by Kendra Portier, David Dorfman, Tere O’Connor, Jessica Pretty, Jessie Young, Charli Brissey, Renee Wadleigh, Sara Hook, and others. Donna is also a certified pole fitness and dance instructor and has taught pole professionally for the past two years. She continues to collaboratively research the integration of both pole and contemporary dance vocabularies in ways that work to challenge expectations of both space and form through her prioritization of labor, duration, and physically rigorous tasks.
