Constance DeJong is an artist, writer and performer, producing fiction texts and language/image based work for performance and theater, audio and video installations. Her first book, Modern Love, was re-issued in March 2017 by Primary Information/Ugly Duckling Presse.
She has permanent audio installations in Beacon, NY, London and Seattle. DeJong was a collaborator on Super Vision, A Builders Association production (2005); librettist for the opera, Satyagraha, composer Philip Glass; has twice collaborated with Tony Oursler on live performances, including the 1988 Relatives restaged at The Kitchen, March 2018. A series of audio works— modified vintage radios – programmed to play spoken word performances of new texts, 2016-18; exhibited at Art Basel, 601 Gallery, McEvoy Foundation for the Arts, SF. Bureau gallery, NYC. NightWriters is being published by Triple Canopy as an on-line project in April 2018; and, NightWriters drawings and audio works will be shown at Bureau gallery, April-May 2018.
