Charli Brissey is an artist invested in performance, choreography, and sound as a means of proposing alternative possibilities for how bodies (human and non-human) might collaborate within contemporary sociopolitical and economic climates. Her video and performance work has been presented at various galleries, film festivals, conferences, and performance venues around the globe, including Dance on Camera Festival at Lincoln Center, Center for Performance Research, Paris International Lesbian and Feminist Film Festival, Vancouver Queer Film Festival, and the Nottingham Playhouse. Brissey received a BFA in Dance & Choreography and an MFA in Kinetic Imaging, both from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently based in Champaign, Illinois where she is pursuing an MFA in Dance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
