Becky Serrell Cyr

Becky Serrell Cyr is a dance artist and educator. Her educational work focuses on improvisational and choreographic creative solutions as well as social-emotional health in the arts setting. She currently teaches dance to elementary aged students at PS201 The Discovery School for Inquiry and Research, a STEAM Magnet school, in Queens, NY. Additionally, Cyr is a “Bessie” Award Winner for Outstanding Performance, having worked with many NY based choreographers over the decades, and has shown her own creative work at many NYC venues. She will present an upcoming project at The Kitchen’s 2019 Dance and Process program that examines how a performing artist negotiates authority and freedom within a form.
