Barbara Ann Michaels
Barbara Ann Michaels, aka Jester of the Peace, makes a career of the interplay of love, art, and comedy. She creates playful participatory environments and performances in which audiences can have transformational experiences about serious subjects. Her training is in physical theater and the documentary arts, leading her to make embodied work about the stories of our lives. Ms. Michaels has been presented at The Miami Project, The New York Clown Theatre Festival, San Francisco Fringe Festival, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Boston Museum of Science, and at many festivals. She has danced with Dana Salisbury and Cindy Bernier. In the media, she has been seen on The Learning Channel’s Four Weddings, in the New York Times, Boston Globe, New York Daily News, New York Magazine, The Guardian and the Huffington Post, and on CNN. She also is an award-winning wedding officiant in New York City, specializing in creative ceremonies, inducted into The Knot Hall of Fame.
