Argelia Arreola. AcustiKorp Project.

Dancer, instructor and choreographer. Contemporary, West African, Mexican folk and Afro-Cuban dance. Graduated from the Universidad Veracruzana, México, in 2009 with a BA in Contemporary Dance.

Has received the following grants:

Program of Creation and Artistic Development of Veracruz, México IVEC (2009)

National Scenic Creators Program and Young Creators FONCA (2012 & 2014)

Taught contemporary dance at the School of Dance at the Universidad Veracruzana (2010-2012)

Taught West African dance workshops in different cities of Mexico and Costa Rica. She was member of the Ensamble de Percusiones de Xalapa, Mexico for nine years (2003-2012) as a dancer and choreographer.

She has also presented and taken workshops in France, Mexico, Cuba, Chile, and Costa Rica. Her work as a choreographer has been performed in México, Costa Rica, and Cuba.

Based in New York City since 2014, she is an active member of Babel Dance Company, Forces of Nature Dance Theater, and the Afro-Mexican band Jarana Beat.
