AW is a dance maker and performer based in Stockholm, Sweden. She has been involved in the Swedish contemporary dance scene for almost 30 years, frequently presenting her work at the venues Atalante in Gothenburg and Weld in Stockholm. Initially devoting herself to improvisation as performance format, she has also created set performances investigating feminist narratives, and maintains longtime collaborations with both live improvising musicians and electronic composers. While in New York on an MRX residency in 2017 she looked into release technique and somatics and how these forms have developed and transformed since her first visit to the city in 1991. She is currently a student at Stockholm University in the Master programme New Performative Practices.
