Alicia Ohs is a dance maker and community builder who has taught yoga, dance and leadership development for over 10 years, working with youth in public schools, prison, continuation high school and through substance-use programs. She has collectively organized a CSA farm, and developed health and wellness strategies in non-profits and activist communities. In addition to Dance Makers, she worked with Movement Research as co-curator of the 2014 Spring Festival: fallow time and is a founding member and facilitator with the Artists of Color Council.
As a choreographer, she has presented work at BAX, Dixon Place, Movement Research at Judson Memorial Church, CATCH and Dance New Amsterdam (as the former Dance Space Center) and throughout San Francisco, where her work was described as “feisty, clever and poignant” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. She is currently a collaborating and performing member in Faye Driscoll’s Thank You For Coming series, and is honored to have performed with Sally Silvers, Andrea Geyer and niv Acosta, Sondra Loring, Laura Arrington, RoseAnne Spradlin and others. She is a graduate of Tisch School of the Arts Experimental Theatre Wing and lives in Brooklyn, NY with her pit-bull mix.
