Jennifer Mesch is a choreographer and performer originally from Empire, Michigan. She was a self-trained improvisor until she began studying dance formally under modern dancer Therese Povolo and went on to receive a BA in dance and a BS in botany from Western Michigan University. She studied at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio, Wellspring/Cori Terry and Dancers and Princeton Ballet School. In 1998 she formed the Jen Mesch Dance Conspiracy through which she collaborates with a wide variety of artists, scientists and citizens. She choreographs for experimental theater and teaches dance composition, technique and theory in a variety of environments. She is also a freelance dance critic. She has performed with choreographers Penny Hutchinson, Jack Magai, Erin Malley and Jennifer Monson. She currently lives in Princeton, New Jersey where she is the technical director of the Echo Lab at the University Medical Center at Princeton and teaches modern dance at the Lawrenceville School and Princeton Ballet School.
