Rishauna Zumberg always finds it strange to speak of herself in the third person, but here it goes>>> Rishauna was born in Dtroit, Michigan and has been living, working, creating, and dancing in NYC for the past eight years. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in dance she moved to NY to work as an Americorps Vista volunteer at Common Cents NY. Simultaneously she continued her study and exploration of movement and dance including making a piece with live music, dance and community involvement in the Union St. Garden. She had a brief stint doing work-study at Movement Research (holla!) and is excited to participate and help organize an event for this spring festival. She has performed in works of Erick Montes, Michael Bodel at HERE, Deborah Karp Dance Projects, Hana va der Kolk's improvisation-based work, and Anne Zuerner/Roxanne Lola Movement Machine. Recently Rishauna created and performed a piece with balloon appendages, Bubbleloona, as part of One Night Stand (curated by the Chicle Girls) at the Bushwick Starr.
