Christine Elmo holds a Bachelor's in Fine Arts from SUNY Purchase, where she studied with Neil Greenberg. Other influences come from numerous workshops she has attended in and out of the U.S., including Trisha Brown Dance Company, Siobhan Davies Company, March to Marfa with Steve Paxton and Helen Poynor. In the spring of 2005, she commissioned and performed Widget, a solo created by Douglas Dunn. In the same year she was awarded a fellowship as an associate artist at Atlantic Center for the Arts. While living in Brooklyn, Christine has collaborated and performed with Daniel Carter, Charlotte Gibbons, Miguel Gutierrez, Johanna S. Meyer and Jennifer Monson, among others. Her own work has been presented at AUNTS, Dixon Place, Fielday at Abrons Arts Center, Live Sh-- at the Chocolate Factory and at the Bryant Lake Bowl in Minneapolis. In fall 2007, one of Christine's writings about structure was printed in the 'Zine', a non-profit publication organized by Ana Keilson, promoting ideas of the NYC performance community. She really, really loves her son Andy.
