Leslie is a performer, dancer mostly, in the field of modern dance.
Leslie Çuyjet jumped into the ocean at Coney Island in January 2008.
She wore a bustier in Jane Comfort’s new work An American Rendition and recently rolled around with modern dance hottie, Darrin Wright, in Tere O’Connor’s Winterbelly.
The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign armed her with a B.F.A in dance in 2003.
That B.F.A. is sitting in its envelope, unopened, in an old room in her parents’ house in Louisville, Kentucky. This displeases her mother.
“Plays well with others,” appeared on three of four A.M. kindergarten reports, and was the first time a black female artist had been honored. *
Leslie has dreams of performing on what her mother calls “the big screen.”
On several occasions, nightmares have led Leslie to cry herself awake and scare her partner, Jason, silly.
She is a founding member of collaborative crew, Happydog Chicago and also a member of the Park Slope Food Co-op.
Her middle name is Carol. And is pronounced K+A-rôl. Her last name is French and pronounced s+o-ZH+A.
