Kyle Wilamowski

Kyle Wilamowski was born in Milford, Michigan and raised in the suburbs of Detroit. He earned his MFA from Columbia University’s Graduate Film Division and has written and directed numerous short narrative and documentary films, all focusing on a variety of under represented aspects of American culture. His feature script “Grass Stains” was awarded Faculty Selects and was a top five dramatic finalist at the 2007 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition. His short thesis film of the same name was awarded the 2008 RHI Development Grant as well as Faculty Honors. He has also worked in music supervision on such independent feature films as David Gordon Green’s “Snow Angels” and a new upcoming documentary about the 2004 tour of Devendra Banhart,Joanna Newsom and Vetiver entitled “The Family Jams”. He is currently in preproduction to direct his first feature film in the late summer of 2009.
