Willa Carroll is a writer and performer based in NYC. Her poems have been published in Tin House, Mary Magazine, Tuesday; An Art Project, and Readings for Writers (12th Edition). She was a 2011 nominee for a Pushcart Prize. Willa is a MFA candidate in the class of June 2011 at the Bennington Writing Seminars where she was the recipient of the Liam Rector Scholarship in 2009. She earned a BA in Poetry and Dance from Bennington College in ’97. Willa has performed with Luciana Achugar, DD Dorvillier, Dari Fain, Andrea Kleine, Heather Kravas, Jennifer Monson, Michael Portnoy, Tal Yarden & Patricia Fox, et al. Her performance works have been seen at MASS MoCA, DraftWork at Danspace Project, Movement Research at the Judson Church, and Hothouse at P.S. 122. She has choreographed for theater productions at Theater for the New City and The Ontological Hysteric Theater. She collaborates with her husband, filmmaker Andreas von Scheele, on text-based motion image projects.
