Jessie Gold grew up in Miami, Florida and is a graduate of the Dance Program at the New World School of the Arts High School. She continued her education at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study where she expanded her dance practice while receiving a B.A. in Choreography, Fine Art and Cultural Studies. As a choreographer, her work has been shown at St. Mark’s Church (Draftwork Series), Judson Memorial Church, Aunts Roadshow, Burning Bridges/Guyton/Walker studio, Bas Fisher Invitational (Miami, FL) and MOCA (Miami, FL). As an individual artist and a dancer she has worked with a wide variety of acclaimed artists such as Robert Melee, Dara Friedman, Xavier Cha, Frank Benson, Spencer Sweeney and Naomi Fisher, and dancers/choreographers Maria Hassabi, Caitlin Cook, Justine Lynch, Heather Kravas, Jmy Leary, Nancy Garcia, and Paige Martin. She is also a founding member of the dance/art/music collective SKINT. With all of these endeavors, she has produced boundary crossing performance works that have been presented in art galleries, museums, music venues, bars and on the stage in institutions ranging from The Dance Theater Workshop (NY), the Kitchen (NY), Greene Naftali Gallery (NY), The Knitting Factory (NY) and various European Dance Festivals. Gold lives and works in New York City.
