Burr Johnson holds a B.F.A. in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has danced with Shen Wei Dance Arts since August 2009 and with John Jasperse Company since September 2010. He also works with choreographers Walter Dundervill, Helen Simoneau, and Christopher Williams. Burr is one of few performers to have danced in reconstructions of Laura Dean’s Tympani and Infinity. His choreographic work has been shown through Underexposed at Dixon Place, Draftwork at Danspace, and Movement Research at Judson Church. He has taught technique classes at Henrico Center for the Arts, the American Dance Festival through WFSS, and at the University of Utah as a guest.
