Ana Isabel Keilson lives and makes dances in New York City; she is also a history Ph.D candidate at Columbia University. Fellowships and awards include: DAAD (American/German Academic Exchange) (2011); Choreographic Fellowship, Summer Stages Dance (2010); Choreographer in Residence, The Yard (2010); visiting artist, Storefront for Art and Architecture, NYC (2010); visiting artist, Daghdha Dance Company, Ireland (2009); Jacob’s Pillow Choreographer’s Lab American Dance Guild Scholarship (2009); Phi Beta Kappa (2005). She collaborates with the Moscow/St. Petersburg-based directors Kseniya Petrenko and Alexeii Zherebstov (Liquid Theater); she has performed with luciana achugar and Daniel McCusker. Teaching cred: the Putney School Summer Program (2009); Bowdoin College (guest lecturer 2008 and 2009); CLASSCLASSCLASS (2009-present). From 2008 to 2009 she was the film archivist for Merce Cunningham. She is the founder and organizer of ‘the zine.’ In 2010 she was the co-director of CLASSCLASSCLASS. This spring she was a writer-in-residence for Danspace Project (http://www.danspaceproject.org/blog/).
