Eden's Expressway is a beautiful, well maintained, column free space with an excellent floor and bright light. The studio space is 35x40, with sprung wood floors, good light (windows on one full wall), and partial mirrors on one wall (curtain can be drawn.) The studio is open from 10am - 8:30pm 7 days a week. Rehearsal rates is $10 per hour, and class/workshop rates is $25 per hour.
NEW STUDIO! Avenue C Studio, owned and operated by East Village Dance Project and GOH Productions, is a new space at 55 Avenue C between 4th and 5th Streets. The studio is 25x47.The studio has a brand new dance floor donated by Harlequin Dance Floors, suitable for ballet, modern and contemporary dance. There is one full wall of mirrors and there are ballet barres in the space. At this time recorded music only is permitted. As of January 10 the studio is available for rental Mondays 12-3pm, Tuesdays 10am-3pm, Wednesdays 12-3pm, Thursdays 10am-3pm, and Fridays 10am-3pm. The Avenue C Studio is $10 per hour for rehearsals. At this time Movement Research is not renting the studio for classes or auditions.
As of January 5, 2012 Movement Research is taking space requests through August 2012.
Movement Research rents studio space to artists for rehearsal, classes, workshops or private instruction on an hourly basis. We cannot rent space for auditions at this time. Because of our delicate floor, we do not rent for tap, flamenco, hip hop, or any other form requiring shoes. If you are able to rehearse barefoot we are happy to try and accomodate you. Movement Research is a dance service organization, and for this reason we rent only to dance and dance related rehearsals, workshops, and other applicable events. Eden's Expressway is located at 537 Broadway, 4th floor (between Prince and Spring Streets.) The studio is convenient to the R, 6, C, E, B, D, F, and V trains.
Avenue C Studio is located at 55 Avenue C between 4th and 5th Streets. The studio is convenient to the F, J, M, Z trains and the M14D bus.
